It’s Melbourne’s turn for Fashion Exposed!
The SECRETWEAPONS Stand, Fashion Exposed 2011
After our stellar success at Sydney’s Autumn/Winter FASHION EXPOSED earlier this year, SECRETWEAPONS was showing off their wares again in Melbourne this week! FASHION EXPOSED Is Australia’s largest Fashion Buying Trade Fair, giving the fashion industry the chance to see the latest fashion and accessories for this Spring/Summer, including all the great products on offer from SECRETWEAPONS.
SECRETWEAPONS was one of over 650 Exhibitors at Melbourne’s Exhibition Building this week, with the best Australian and International wholesalers and designers showcasing woman’s wear, menswear, children’s wear, intimate apparel, bridal & evening wear, swimwear, surf wear, street/urban wear, accessories, jewelry, Manchester, sports/leisurewear and footwear.
So who goes to FASHION EXPOSED? Well, it’s a diverse crowd of Fashion & Accessories Buyers, Directors, CEOs, Business Owners, Store Managers & Group Managers from Fashion Retailers, Fashion Chain Stores, Boutique Fashion Stores, Accessories Stores and Department Stores who all come to FASHION EXPOSED to decide what they will stock in the coming Spring/Summer season.
FASHION EXPOSED also holds a highly regarded design awards program, DEBUT, which has seen an impressive line up of finalists for the Melbourne 2011 competition. Since commencing in 2006, Debut has been the launch pad for over 130 young Australian labels, including Alexi Freeman, Donna Sgro, Trimapee, Subfusco and Holly Chalmers.
Attracting over 7,000 visitors, this event was not only an opportunity for us to showcase our fantastic range of essential wardrobe accessories, but was also a great chance for us to preview three great new products in the SECRETWEAPONS line-up including our Stiletto Stoppers, BootBuddies and our hot new release the SkinnyMini!
Our StilettoStoppers were really warmly received with many buyers looking to stock them for the upcoming Spring Racing Carnival. There was almost universal agreement that the sinking feeling of your favourite stiletto heels in the turf was about as crushing as loss on the races! So don’t forget to look out for StilettoStoppers from SECRETWEAPONS this Spring if you are hitting the turf at Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival!
Our BootBuddies were also a stand-up (pardon the pun!) success, with many buyers looking to stock our BootBuddies boot supports to ensure that your prized winter boots stand tall and proud until next season. Check these out at your favourite retailer or on our online store soon!
But probably the most coveted product in our Spring preview this year was our soon to be released SkinnyMini! Our super SkinnyMini body shaper has been designed with high waist support and power mesh inserts for extra control and maximum comfort. But the best part of FASHION EXPOSED was all the great feedback we received about our special anti-slip, anti-roll band at the top of our shaper which will ensure that the SkinnyMini stays right where it is supposed to! The SECRETWEAPONS SkinnyMini will be out just in time for the races, so stay posted!
But we weren’t the only ones showing off our products, there was some fantastic jewellery at this years event, including three stunning jewellery designers showcasing their labels in the Accessory category of DEBUT. From Queensland, Nomiki Glynatsis Couture showcased her exclusive one-off collection titled Jewels of the night while Totomoto from Western Australia featured bold and beautiful statement pieces inspired by the Australian Environment. But I think my favourite was Vinyl Cuts Jewellery from Victoria who are doing the most amazing and innovative work with preloved records.
We can’t wait for FASHION EXPOSED 2012, we are already thinking about new additions for our product line-up for next year!
